Chad Johnson jokes about asking Kevin Colbert for a job

For 10 seasons, wide receiver Chad Johnson tormented the Pittsburgh Steelers while playing for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was one of the best receivers of his era. But former rivals can mend fences I suppose. Johnson took to Twitter on Sunday to let his followers know he was on the same flight as Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert and joked he would ask him for a tryout to be the Steelers kicker.

But I think we all know Johnson wasn’t really joking.

Kevin Colbert is also on my flight, gonna ask for a picture & an opportunity at the kicking position, what’s the worse he can say❓

Unfortunately for Johnson, while he did speak to Colbert and get a picture, the 41-year old didn’t get a tryout and will have to stick to all his other endeavors.

Johnson jokes about the Steelers kicking situation but there is plenty to worry about this season. Chris Boswell’s inconsistency was a huge factor in the Steelers missing the playoffs in 2018. And the Steelers have done little to address the position other than re-assure Boswell the job is his based on the lack of competition on the roster.
