Chaakoo Bombay Cafe is opening another restaurant in the west end

Chaakoo Bombay Cafe has revealed it's opening another restaurant in the west end.

The St Vincent Street tapas spot, which serves up mouth-watering Mumbai-style and Iranian dishes, are launching their new branch in the former Di Maggio's at 61 Ruthven Lane next Tuesday (October 29).

If you haven't been before, you're in for a treat: They're big on small plates, creating a fusion of flavours from classic grill dishes to traditional specialties.

In a statement, the firm said: "We can’t wait to bring the same experience from our St Vincent Street restaurant to wider Glasgow. We look forward to taking you back in time to experience the incredible flavours, smells and atmosphere of a classic Iranian Cafe."

Restaurateurs DRG (Di Maggio's restaurant group), who look after Chaakoo along with the likes of The Anchor Line, The Atlantic Bar and Brasserie and Café Andaluz, announced the £200,000 opening earlier this summer.

Founding director Mario Gizzi said: “With more than 35 years’ experience serving the people of Glasgow, we were very confident that Chaakoo would appeal to the city’s appetite for new culinary concepts, but we’ve been taken aback by just how popular it’s become in less than three years.

“We’re very excited about opening our first ‘neighbourhood’ Chaakoo and firmly believe it will be a welcome addition to Glasgow’s west end."

The new restaurant will be at 71-73 St Vincent Street - just along from sister eatery Chaakoo (Google Maps)

As well as serving lunch and dinner, Chaakoo reveal they will soon be offering takeaways from their west end cafe too... Follow them on Facebook for future info.
