Former My Kitchen Rules contestant Claudean Uamaki-Mu has spoken out after pleading guilty to charges of common assault related to a child, claiming she has “nothing to hide”.
A previous suppression order concealing her identity was lifted this week in the Richlands Magistrates Court, revealing her and husband Anthony Mu as the Channel 7 personalities previously facing serious charges against children.
Uamaki-Mu was charged in August 2023 over allegations including indecent treatment of children under 16, rape, sexual assault and torture, which date back to 2005.
On Wednesday, she pleaded guilty in the Magistrates Court of Queensland to six counts of common assault, relating to the assault of a child.
The court heard she kicked, hit and spat on a child. Other charges against her were dropped.
She was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and a 12-month good behaviour bond with no convictions recorded.

Amid media reports now identifying the couple, Uamaki-Mu shared an Instagram video on Thursday acknowledging the lifted suppression order, and alleged she hadn’t wanted her name suppressed “because I have nothing to hide”.
“They have just lifted my name suppression, which I really didn’t want in the first place because I have nothing to hide,” she said.
“So I’ll still be running my food truck, all the food truck people know, just calm down, it’s nothing new, there is nothing to see here.”
The same day, she also shared a screenshot on Instagram — from another user’s Google search — of “how many innocent people plead guilty”.

In another Instagram Story on Friday, Uamaki-Mu acknowledged the guilty plea but claimed there’s “false allegations”. She alleged the charges relate to “smacking” children with a wooden spoon and throwing an empty Tupperware container at one child.
Uamaki-Mu added other reasons for the guilty plea “will come out later in the wash”.
In the court proceedings on Wednesday, defence barrister Simon Lewis said his client Uamaki-Mu suffered from depression and anxiety and had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, per news.com.au.
The court heard she was seeing a medical professional to address the longstanding psychiatric issues and Lewis said the behaviour was consistent with “losses of control”.

Acting Magistrate Michael Quinn accepted Uamaki-Mu was remorseful and was receiving ongoing treatment, though he noted the charges were “extremely serious”.
Uamaki-Mu is still due to stand trial in the District Court on 12 charges, including unlawful assault occasioning actual bodily harm, indecent treatment and rape. A dozen charges including torture and assault occasioning actual bodily harm were thrown out earlier this year after magistrate Stuart Shearer ruled in January there was no evidence to support them, as reported by news.com.au.
Her partner Anthony Mu — who previously couldn’t be identified due to legal reasons — faces a number of charges in the Magistrates Court of Queensland, with authorities alleging the offences took place over two decades between 2005 and 2020.
His case has been postponed and is scheduled to resume next month.
