Cesc Fabregas' Twitter takes strange turn amid football's coronavirus postponements

The postponement of football around Europe has caused somewhat of a vacuum.

With no games set to take place across much of the continent this weekend as countries battle to stop the spread of coronavirus, it leads to people seeking other forms of entertainment.

And footballers themselves are not immune from the search to keep one's self amused.

Which is where we come to former Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas.

Coronavirus: WHO says Europe now 'the epicentre of the pandemic'

The midfielder, now at Monaco following his Stamford Bridge exit in January 2019, spent some of his Friday evening asking users on Twitter for recommendations on TV series he can binge with his wife.

Apart from that though, he was also seen responding to a rather graphic video of a procedure performed in a hospital.

Suffice to say, we here at football.london will not be linking to the video. But there were still plenty of laughs from his followers, pointing out what one weekend without football is doing to a man who lives for the game.

Apart from replying to odd videos and gathering suggestions on how to pass the time, Fabregas has been outspoken on his platform about the need to be responsible with regards to the spread of coronavirus.

Following on from Prime Minister Boris Johnson's press conference on Thursday afternoon, the midfielder stated: "So you're saying and admitting the disease will spread so much over the next weeks/months but you're not closing schools "just yet"...

"You will have to close them eventually anyway. Why not do it now and avoid more trouble? #LetsBeResponsible."
