Cesc Fabregas' superb reaction to Gabriel Martinelli and Hector Bellerin goals against Chelsea

Arsenal have plenty of work to do in the coming months to improve upon what has been an inconsistent display this season but there have been some bright sparks.

One of the highlights this season has been the breakthrough of Gabriel Martinelli, who was signed as an unknown prodigy from Brazilian side Ituano and has caught the eye.

Initially gracing the Europa League and Carabao Cup, Martinelli has also shone in the Premier League and has now scored in the Gunners' last two matches.

Coming into the side in the place of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, serving a three-match suspension following a red card against Crystal Palace, Martinelli has filled the void perfectly.

Tucking home from close range against Sheffield United at the weekend, Martinelli scored a different sort of goal in Arsenal's trip to face Chelsea as he burst through on the counter-attack.

Aided by N'Golo Kante's slip on the halfway line, Martinelli had the composure to continue with his charge forward and kept his cool to tuck beyond Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Among those celebrating and reacting to the goal was former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who of course won the Premier League with Chelsea, who posted a message on Twitter that read: 'Francis Cagigao strikes again.'

Previously club scout in Spain and the man that identified Fabregas, Cagigao was promoted to Head of International Scouting after Sven Mislintat's departure in 2019.

He wasn't done there though, as he returned to celebrate Hector Bellerin's equaliser - once again referencing the scout that identified the defender, adding:
