Liverpool were humbled by Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Wednesday evening as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat in their Champions League first leg.
Fans of the Reds feel Liverpool were 'unlucky' and manager Jurgen Klopp has chosen not to criticise his players and rather praise them for a good effort on the field.
But a mix of bad fortune and Lionel Messi brilliance means that the Reds are well and truly up against it ahead of the second leg next Tuesday.
It's wasn't just fans, however, that responded to the performance and didn't hammer the Reds, former Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas also perfectly summed up Liverpool's defeat by providing a sincere and kind tweet on the game.

"Hats off to Liverpool, what an amazing performance. You can only lose a game like that if against you there is a good team but a special player that is well above the rest," Fabregas tweeted.
These kind words won't make up for the defeat but sometimes you really do just have to acknowledge greatness. Messi has that quality for sure.
