Cesc Fabregas sums up exactly how Arsenal fans will be feeling after Man United win

It is a new year and a first win for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta after the Gunners defeated Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal produced a dominant display against the Red Devils, with goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis scoring in the first half as the Gunners claimed a much-needed victory.

The win, which was the first for the Gunners since Arteta took charge last month, lifted Arsenal back into the top half of the Premier League table, and to within three points of north London rivals Tottenham, and four of United in fifth.

The Gunners' performance earned them praise from BT Sport pundits Rio Ferdinand and Robin van Persie, with the duo outlining what Arteta has already changed in his short time at the club.

Arsenal's players were full of smiles at the full time whistle after the win, and the fans were in good spirits as the Emirates Stadium was alive with noise at the end of the game.

And former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas summed up what many supporters are likely to be thinking after watching the victory, which was only the Gunners' sixth in the league this season.

Taking to social media close to the full time whistle, he said: "Best @Arsenal game in a long time. Really enjoyed it. "

And many Arsenal fans will be hoping this is a sign of things to come for the Gunners under Arteta, with Arsenal facing Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Chelsea later this month in the Premier League.

Next up though is an FA Cup third round clash with Leeds United.
