Cesc Fabregas speaks as ex-Celtic full-back Alex Valle completes Serie A switch

Como have confirmed the signing of former Celtic left-back Alex Valle

The Spaniard joined the Parkhead side at the beginning of last season.

Valle spent the first half of the 2024/25 campaign in Glasgow, helping Brendan Rodgers' men to win the Premier Sports Cup.

He soon swapped Scotland for Italy, though, with his Celtic loan promptly ending and Barcelona sending him out to Serie A outfit Como.

Valle then helped the club maintain their top-flight status in the second half of the season and has now completed a permanent switch, worth, per Fabrizio Romano, €6 million.

The move was officially confirmed today, with the full-back penning a five-year deal.

He said [comofootball.com]: "It’s been a great six months. I’ve settled in really well and I’m very happy here. Obviously, the prospect of continuing here in Como fills me with joy and pride. I can’t wait to start next season and give my all for this club."

Valle will now permanently work under Barcelona legend Cesc Fabregas.

The boss revealed his delight at the permanent acquisition of the 20-year-old: "Alex is a talented young defender, and he has proven it in the last six months," he said.

"He has integrated perfectly and in a very short time into the team’s mechanisms, showing all his qualities both defensively and offensively. With him Como has secured one of the most interesting talents of his age who will be very important for the team in the future."
