Cesc Fabregas says it's 'too early' to talk about leaving Chelsea, despite frustration at bit-part role

Cesc Fabregas has once again spoken of his frustration with his bit-part role at Chelsea, but insists it is "too early" to talk about his future beyond the club.

The Spanish midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, following the summer arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.

England pair Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley have also added to competition in midfield, and Fabregas has largely been restricted to run outs in the EFL Cup and Europa League.

Speaking after playing 90 minutes in the Europa League dead rubber against MOL Vidi, Fabregas admitted that it was a "difficult situation".

"I know what my role is," Fabregas said. "Unfortunately it's not the one I want. I'm keeping it professional as usual.

"I'm always trying to do my best, in the conditions, playing with the youngsters, playing with the first team, even though this year I still haven't played with the full, full first team one game.

"But, I'm trying to do what I can. It's a difficult situation for me, obviously."

However, Fabregas, who has been at the club since joining from Barcelona in 2014, says talk of a transfer is premature.

"We'll see what happens. It's too early to talk about this now.

"I don't give up. I'm not someone who you'll see complaining or not giving his all because of that.

"I'll always be there showing my face when needed and if the time comes the time comes."
