Cesc Fabregas lifts lid on what Arsenal dressing room thinks of Mikel Arteta's approach

Cesc Fabregas has lifted the lid on the thoughts of Arsenal players under Mikel Arteta, and claims the Gunners are "fascinated" by him.

Arteta replaced Unai Emery as Arsenal boss in 2019, after two seasons working alongside Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The Spaniard had big plans to shake-up the Emirates, which he made clear in his very first press conference after taking the manager's job.

Managers in the past have sometimes shot themselves in the own foot by looking to make wholesale changes too quickly at a football club.

But Arteta has managed to keep the vast majority of his squad on side, with many stars on board with what he is trying to achieve, according to Fabregas.

"They have a new project, I believe what Mikel [Arteta] is doing is nice," the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder told the Daily Mail.

"The players are fascinated by how he came in and changed the training ground, the methodology, how he prepares for games.

"He makes it easier for his teams to understand how to attack, how to defend - I like his ideas, all I'm hearing is positive."

Arsenal are still very much in transition, and as a result are currently 11th in the Premier League table - four points away from the Champions League spots.

The Gunners play Leeds on Sunday, with the newly-promoted side down in 15th after dropping off following their brilliant start.
