Cesc Fabregas disagrees with Jamie Carragher about Chelsea's best player in Liverpool win

Chelsea's 1-0 win over Liverpool on Thursday night has garnered plenty of attention.

Mason Mount scored the only goal of the game on Merseyside and it was no more than what the Blues deserved after a rather dominant first-half where Timo Werner had an effort ruled out after a VAR check.

The win moves Thomas Tuchel 's side into the top four and extends their unbeaten run under the German tactician to 10 games across all competitions.

Mount was one of several standout performers against the Reds, and the debate as to who was Chelsea's best player is one that has been difficult for many to agree on.

According to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, the pick of the bunch for the Blues was Andreas Christensen.

The defender whose excellent form in the absence of Thiago Silva continued with another outstanding display - this time at Anfield up against the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino - and that earned him the man-of-the-match award from Carragher.

"It wasn’t so much the defending, really, it was more Christensen, I felt he was taking the ball, they were playing out from the back and being really brave against one of the best pressing teams we know," Carragher said.

"I thought he was really brave in taking that responsibility and also, every time Liverpool attacked and put a cross in, I felt he got his head on the end of it.

"There was a couple of times he was in a race with Mane and came out on top, so that just pushed me towards Christensen (man of the match)."

However, former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas disagrees with the Liverpool legend's assessment.

Taking to social media after the game, Fabregas had some kind words about midfielder N'Golo Kante, giving the Frenchman a new nickname as well as hailing him as Chelsea's best player at Anfield.

"N'golinho what a player! MOTM," the former Blues midfielder said on Twitter.

Furthermore, Fabregas did heap praise on Christensen as well as the Dane's central defensive partners in Antonio Rudiger and captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

"All defenders really solid and great with the ball," the Spaniard added. "Great performance."
