Cesc Fabregas can't believe what happened during Chelsea's defeat against Manchester United

Chelsea's 2-0 defeat against Manchester United on Monday night served up a number of talking points.

There's the fact that the Blues were beaten at home once again this season and Ole Gunnar Solskjear coming out on top against Frank Lampard for a third time across all competitions this term.

But the two incidents which many are still talking about both came in either half.

Firstly, Harry Maguire - who scored to make it 2-0 - was fortunate to escape a red card as he appeared to kick out at Michy Batshuayi as the pair clashed near the sideline.

Then Kurt Zouma's celebrations were cut short when he thought he had made it 1-1 as his effort was ruled out following a VAR check.

Although, replays showed the decision was rather harsh as whilst Cesar Azpilicueta did push Brandon Williams, he was nudged in the back by Fred before making contact with the United defender.

And ex-Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas was keeping a close eye on how events unfolded at the stadium which he used to call home.

Taking to social media the Spaniard had plenty to say about both incidents.

Firstly he tweeted "Red" in regards to the Maguire tackle.

He then said: "I can't believe this" late in the second half and judging by the time stamp it would appear that Fabregas was reacting to Olivier Giroud having a goal ruled out for offside.

That made it two 'goals' which VAR cancelled out at the Blues' expense.

Even Man United legend Roy Keane said Maguire should have seen red.

"He’s very lucky, a lucky boy," the ex-United captain said on Sky Sports. "I didn’t agree that his [Son's Tottenham incident vs Newcastle] was a red card, obviously it went to VAR, and Maguire here, maybe it’s because of his personality, he’s a calm lad.

"He definitely kicks out, a lucky, lucky boy.

"I think it’s a red card, his personality probably helps him and they look at the package, asking if he is a nasty type of player.

"Of course, you could say the same about Son. The argument all day is the consistency because if Son was sent off, Maguire should have been as well."
