Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has wished Jose Mourinho well, despite him joining the Blues' rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss was appointed as the new head coach at Tottenham this week, with Mourinho replacing Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked on Tuesday after five-and-a-half years at the club.
And Azpilicueta has sent a message to Mourinho having reflected on his time working with him at Chelsea , with the Blues winning the Premier League during his second spell at the club.
“I can only talk when Jose was here at Chelsea with us, we won trophies," Azpilicueta told Sky Sports.
“But football moves on and times are different, and I can just wish him all the best, even if he is with a rival. We have good memories with him."
However, Azpilicueta insists that things will not change for him when Chelsea face Mourinho's Spurs side next month, with the Blues set to come up against their former boss when they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 22.
“I have played many times against him and obviously when we play against each other we both want to win for our teams, but this is football.”
Mourinho's first game in charge is against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.
