Cesar Azpilicueta reaches ‘agreement’ on Chelsea exit as Erling Haaland transfer decision made

The January transfer window is only just around the corner and Chelsea will no doubt be keeping an eye on developments.

The Blues were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the summer - both on the incoming and outgoing fronts - and it remains to be seen whether they repeat that in the winter.

Either way, Chelsea have already been linked with a number of players ahead of the window as current Blues boss Thomas Tuchel aims to bolster his side ahead of what looks likely to be a hectic 2022.

With that being said, football.london takes a look at the latest transfer rumours coming in and out of Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has reportedly found an agreement with Barcelona amid his expiring contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of the campaign and has been linked with a move back to his homeland.

According to reports, he is ‘close’ to a move to Barcelona, with an agreement in principle having already been found with the Catalan giants.

Only personal terms are left as the element that could see the deal be scuppered.

On the Blues’ current shortlist is apparently Everton man Lucas Digne.

According to The Athletic, the Toffees would sell for approximately £25million, with the Frenchman set to welcome a move away from Goodison Park after falling out of favour with ex-Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez.

According to reports in Germany, Borussia Dortmund are set to open talks with Erling Haaland over a new deal at the Signal Iduna Park.

Discussions are apparently set to get underway in January in an effort to stave-off considerable interest in the Norwegian international.

However, the Bundesliga giants have confirmed that they will not be held to ransom by setting a February deadline for Haaland to make a decision on his future.
