Chelsea are waking up as champions of Europe for the second time in nine years this morning after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final last night.
The Blues got the better of Pep Guardiola's side for the third time in just six weeks at the Estadio do Dragao thanks to Kai Havertz's very first Champions League goal.
The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder latched onto Mason Mount's excellent pass, knocked the ball past City goalkeeper Ederson, who had come flying out of his six-yard area to try and get to the ball first, and then tap it into an empty net, ensuring Chelsea got their noses in front just three minutes before the half time interval.
And that was the way it stayed, right up until referee Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz called time on proceedings after 97 minutes of nail-biting tension.
Once the full time whistle had blown, Chelsea's players celebrated like they had never celebrated before, running around the stadium and piling on top of each other - and that was before they had even laid their hands on the trophy!
But after captain Cesar Azpilicueta had finally earned the chance to lift the trophy aloft, the celebrations did not die down, only exceeding to be even bigger and better.
The celebrations went on long into the night, with Chelsea's players and head coach Thomas Tuchel dancing and partying around the dressing room. This morning, however, things appear to have calmed down, even if it was just for a moment whilst Azpilicueta had a picture taken of himself.
That is because the Blues skipper has taken to Instagram this morning to post a photograph of himself with the Champions League trophy and his winners' medal, as he sits on a very nice-looking terrace overlooking a very bright and sunny Porto.
As well as sipping a coffee, having the trophy on their chair next to him and his medal around his neck, Azpilicueta also posted a very simple caption to accompany the image.
He said: "Good morning," accompanied with the coffee emoji.
It was such a cool and composed message, lapping up and enjoying what happened last night.
Azpilicueta, who has seen his Chelsea career revitalised by Tuchel, was outstanding at centre-back, playing a heroic role in a memorable victory. He made a vital clearance in the second half to stop the ball being tapped home by Ilkay Gundogan, as well as leading by example throughout the evening.
Azpilicueta, alongside his Chelsea team-mates, will return to England today, although it is not likely that the celebrations will end just there.
