Cesar Azpilicueta names the two Chelsea youngsters who have impressed him in pre-season

Cesar Azpilicueta admits that he has been very impressed by Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount during Chelsea's pre-season campaign so far.

The Blues have had four matches this summer so far and both Abraham and Mount, who were away from Stamford Bridge and out on loan last season, have shown some decent quality.

Mount netted in the 4-0 win over St Patrick's Athletic, while Abraham bagged his first goal of the summer against Barcelona yesterday in Saitama.

Both academy products are looking to get a spot in Chelsea's first team squad under Frank Lampard this season, with the transfer ban meaning that the Blues will have to dip.

And Azpilicueta believes they are taking the chances that they have been given so far over the course of the summer.

"They are two very talented players who had a great path in our Academy," Azpilicueta told the Chelsea website.

Most impressive Chelsea stars vs Barcelona

"They had great spells on loan last season. The next step is to perform well in the first team at Chelsea.

"They are Chelsea boys, they dream of having the opportunity in the first team, and hopefully they can keep working the way they have been doing since they came for the first training session.

"A goal is very important for Tammy. He worked very hard for the team but to score gives that boost to the strikers.

"With Mason’s work-rate and his passing ability, the only way he can go is forward. I am sure they will both be very important for us."
