Cesar Azpilicueta names Chelsea's most lethal player - and it's not Higuain, Giroud or Hazard

Chelsea have had their issues in front of goal this season, with the Blues hitting the woodwork more than any other Premier League team throughout the 2018/19 campaign.

The Blues have had the second most shots throughout the campaign with 476 but have hit the post or bar 19 times, three more than Liverpool, and only finding the back of the net 50 times, the sixth most.

At the top of the goalscoring chart for the Blues is Eden Hazard in the league, with 13 goals and 11 assists to his name, while new striker Gonzalo Higuain has only found the back of the net three times since joining in January.

Gonzalo Higuain has a message for his critics after announcing international retirement

Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud has been in fantastic form in the Europa League with nine goals on the road to the quarter-final, however he has only netted once in the league this season.

But Azpilicueta has named Pedro has the most lethal player in front of goal in training, something that he has taken into the matches.

"Training is a very important part of our job and recently everyone has been training hard and trying to get in the best possible shape for the games," Azpilicueta told the official Chelsea website.

"If I had to name one good moment then Pedro in front of goal, he makes the difference and you see when it comes to the game the way he trains, he repeats it in the game."

The Spaniard has scored eight times in the Premier League, one off his highest ever total for the Blues which he got in the 2016/17 season.

It's a decent total for a player who has been in and out of the side, constantly interchanged with Willian on the right wing, starting 18 matches and making another seven appearances off the bench.

Why Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri should be 'embarrassed' by what Gareth Southgate has done
