Cesar Azpilicueta and the nine other Premier League players most in need of a winter break

César Azpilicueta has played more football this season than all but eight other Premier League players.

The Premier League has introduced a winter break for the first time this season, staggered over the first two weeks of February.

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton and Tottenham have this week off, while Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Everton, Manchester City, Sheffield United, Watford and West Ham have next weekend off.

Ahead of the winter break, football.london has ranked every Premier League player by the number of minutes they’ve played in all competitions.

The top 20 list of outfield players is dominated by Wolves and Liverpool.

Conor Coady has played in every minute of every game for Wolves except the League Cup so far this season. That works out as 3,510 minutes of football - more than any other Premier League player.

João Moutinho, meanwhile, has played 3,221 minutes of football.

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk has played 3,120 minutes of football. while Leander Dendoncker has played 3,038 minutes and Raúl Jiménez 3,019 minutes.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has played 3,012 minutes, with Liverpool duo Andrew Robertson (3,004 minutes) and Mohamed Salah (2,861 minutes) next on the list.

Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta is ninth in the list with a total of 2,810 minutes of football.

Jorginho has played the next most of any Chelsea player (2,592 minutes), followed by Kurt Zouma (2,580 minutes), Tammy Abraham (2,442 minutes), Mason Mount (2,410 minute) and Willian (2,252 minutes).

All in all, Wolves’ players have averaged more minutes on pitch than anyone else, with outfield players to have played at least five games have averaged 1,995 minutes each.

That puts them ahead of Manchester City (1,729 minutes), Liverpool (1,669 minutes) and Leicester (1,611 minutes).

The top ten players for minutes played so far this season is as follows:
