Cesar Azpiliceuta lifts the lids on the surprise position Eden Hazard likes to play at Chelsea

When you think of Eden Hazard you think of runs down the wings, tight control, a bagful of skills and and an eye for goal.

What you don't think of is defending - in fact, the Belgian will probably be the first to tell you that defending isn't his favourite thing to do on a football pitch.

Which makes it all the more surprising that Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed that Hazard likes to play in defence during training sessions at Cobham.

Chelsea fans will love Eden Hazard's latest one word response when asked about Real Madrid

He's got himself 16 goals so far this season and is the side's top goal scorer in all competitions, form that has seen him linked non-stop with Real Madrid and his idol Zinedine Zidane.

You would think that such form is attained by hours and hours of practice and drilling in his position on the training pitches, but according to his Spanish team mate Hazard fancies himself more of a ball playing defender during their small sided games as opposed to the attack minded forward we see on a matchday.

I'm sure we would all love to see Hazard at centre back during this training sessions, and although that is extremely unlikely Azpilicueta has give us a glimpse into what goes on at Cobham when the team are training for matchday.

When asked by Chelsea's official website which player fancied themselves in goal, the Spanish defender said: "In goal I don’t know, but what I will say is Eden, when we play small games, he likes to be a defender – a ball-playing defender."

A David Luiz - Hazard central defensive partnership at Cardiff? Perhaps not.
