CEO gives update on future of defender linked with Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Hull City

Coventry City are still waiting for an answer from Jordan Willis over where his future lies.

The centre-back has been linked with a move to Bristol City after impressing in League One for his boyhood club.

He is out of contract and, being 24, is available to sign on a free transfer and has attracted interest from plenty of clubs.

Luton Town are favourites to sign him but, alongside the Robins, there has also been links to Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Hull City.

Sky Blues CEO Dave Boddy has not ruled out the possibility of Willis staying at Coventry though.

“We haven’t had an answer," he said to Coventry Live.

“The offer is still on the table but obviously as we sign players then the option probably disappears.

“We can’t wait for him so if we sign further players then the option might go away.

“I wouldn’t rule it out either way but the longer it goes on the less chance there is of it happening.”

He added: “Interestingly, he hasn’t signed for anyone else yet.

“We were led to believe that he had an offer somewhere else.”
