CenturyLink Field, home to the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders FC, is known around the NFL as one of the loudest stadiums in the league.
The fans — more affectionately referred to as the 12s — have been the driving force behind opponents’ false starts on Sundays.
Recently, Marc Viquez of the website Stadium Journey took a look at the best stadiums around the NFL, and CenturyLink Field landed at No. 8 on his list.
Here is what Viquez had to say about the “CLink.”
Nestled into Seattle’s SODO District and next to Safeco Field is CenturyLink Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks. This 69,000 seat stadium is designed in a very unique way. It is a U-shaped design that covers 70 percent of the stadium and leaves the field open to the elements. The north side of the stadium offers picturesque views of the downtown Seattle skyline and the south side offers views of the SODO District. This is easily one of the best fan experiences in the NFL today. Being a part of the 12s (that’s what the fans are aptly named) is an experience in of itself. Hold on, because CenturyLink Field is one wild ride.
Lucus Oil Stadium in Indianapolis — home of the Colts and the annual NFL Scouting Combine — took the top spot this season. The Buffalo Bills’ New Era Field came in last.
