INDORE: MPCC chief Kamal Nath on Monday accused BJP-led Centre and state governments of failing to effectively deal with pandemic and alleged that it claimed the lives of 23,000 people in four districts of Khandwa parliamentary seat.
“Its first election after Covid-19 menace. There was no arrangement of oxygen and medicines,” Nath alleged addressing a public function in Khandwa.
He said in Burhanpur district, 16,025 people died due of Covid, followed by death of around 7,000 in Dewas, 6,000 in Khargone and around 4,000 in Khandwa district while the state government only worked to hide the facts and figures.
“The government used to claim that there is no scarcity of Remdesivir injections, oxygen. But you are witness to the ground reality,” Nath said. adding that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan stayed home and claimed that there is no scarcity of oxygen. “You (voters) need to ask Shivraj Singh as to how many people died due to scarcity of Remdesivir and oxygen,” Nath said.
He added that it’s time (byelection) when voters need to ask BJP leaders questions over increasing prices of petrol and diesel. “Shivraj Singh and Modiji should give answers to these questions of public,” Nath said, alleging that there is no doctor in hospitals, no teacher in schools and even there is no wire on electric poles.
