LUCKNOW: The UP unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) began its membership drive on Saturday to add new members to the party’s fold.
The state president of the party, Umashankar Yadav said that the BJP governments at the Centre and the state are dividing the country in the name of religion and caste. “As per a report, at least 28 farmers are committing suicide in the state every day. Maximum suicides have taken place in Bundelkhand,” he said.
In the last one year, the income of every farmer has reduced by 17%, he added. The benefits of the crop insurance policy have not reached even 10% of the farmers. There are at least five lakh posts lying vacant in government departments. Around three unemployed youth are committing suicide every day, he said.
Continuing the attack on the Yogi government, he said that more than 65% people cannot pay the school fee of their children. Besides, Lucknow is the most unsafe city for women in the state and third most unsafe in the country.
