Central team sounds alert on home clusters

KOTTAYAM: The central team said Pathanamthitta district has to be cautious about Covid-19 spreading from houses where infected persons are in quarantine. The central team visited the district on Sunday.

The team assessed that a majority of cases in the district are spreading from infected persons quarantining at home. To prevent this, if any person in the house comes in close contact with the infected person, the person should quarantine and take a Covid test. If anyone at home tests positive, all members in the house should also quarantine. They should not go out until the quarantine period ends. The Central team said that those undergoing the RT-PCR tests should not go out till they get the result.

The five-member team lead by Dr Sujeet Singh, director of National Centre for Disease Control, visited a CFLTC in Pathanamthitta and held discussions with district collector Divya S Iyer. According to the district administration, 86.3% of population received the first dose, and 51% received the second dose.
