Fundamental to studying at Central Saint Martins are experimentation, innovation, risk‑taking, questioning and discovery. All of these take place within a highly supportive learning environment, in whatever discipline you choose to study.
The college has wide‑ranging links to the creative industries. Students and graduates are often commissioned to work on arts and design projects for major companies. The college's 42 courses sit within the Schools of Art; Fashion and Textiles; Communication, Product and Spatial Design; and the Centre for Performance. The expert teaching staff are supported by associate lecturers and technicians, most of whom are also active practitioners in their specialist areas.
The college's shows, exhibitions, events, publications and research make it a major force in one of the world's greatest cultural capitals. The college is a resource offering unlimited opportunities for collaboration, for students and staff and also with the wider arts, design and performance communities.
In 2011 the college moved to an exhilarating new campus at King's Cross in central London, retaining a smaller site at Archway. The King's Cross site has four levels of multi‑purpose workshops, specialist studios and lecture theatres. It has a performance centre with a public theatre, and other performance spaces. Neighbours include the Kings Place arts venue, The Guardian, the British Library and the Gagosian Gallery. This opens up exciting possibilities for creative collaboration at the heart of London's newest cultural quarter.
