The Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) have warned motorists of the lasting effects of minor collisions following a number of recent incidents in the region.
Earlier a single vehicle collision on the A38M involving a speeding motorist led to the carriageway being compromised some three hours later (below) and queuing traffic following the conclusion of England's Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
"The economic consequences can be huge for the community," said the Group.
"All those who ignored the red X's endangering officers will be getting a NIP in the post next week."
