
A MAN will face court on Wednesday charged over the alleged sexual assault of a girl in her family home.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, commenced an investigation following reports a young girl had been sexually assaulted by a man known to her in the early morning on Sunday.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 22-year-old man at a home at Killarney Vale about 1.30pm on Tuesday.
The man was taken to Wyong police station and charged with sexual intercourse with a child (aged between 14-16), intentionally sexually touch a child (aged between 10-16) and intentionally incite child to do sexual act (aged between 10-16).
The man was refused bail to appear before Wyong Local Court on Wednesday.
Police will allege in court the man sexually assaulted the girl whilst visiting the family home.
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
