Center Parcs explains why its popular swimming area was evacuated

Center Parcs has issued a statement after its popular swimming pool was evacuated over the weekend due to a "maintenance issue".

The Subtropical Swimming Paradise at the Sherwood Forest Holiday Village was unexpectedly closed at around 10.30am on Sunday (November 10).

A full investigation was carried out by staff and the pool reopened on Monday (November 11).

A Center Parcs spokeswoman said: "We became aware of a maintenance issue in our Subtropical Swimming Paradise at around 10.30am on Sunday.

"As a precautionary measure, we closed the pool to conduct a full investigation and the pool has now reopened. We would like to reassure our guests and staff that there was no risk to health at any time."
