Center Parcs closes Sherwood Forest village for national lockdown

Center Parcs will be closing its UK villages to guests for the next month.

It comes as the UK is placed under a second national lockdown by Prime Minister Boris Johnson which comes into effect on midnight, Thursday, November 5.

The company, which runs the popular holiday site in Sherwood Forest, will close from Thursday, November 5, until at least Friday, December 4.

A spokesperson said: "We are open to welcome those guests who still wish to visit from tomorrow, Monday 2nd November, but guests will need to cut their breaks a little short and depart village by Thursday morning at 10am - there will be no facilities available on Thursday."

They added: "Please do not contact us to allow us to help guests with imminent breaks, we promise to be in touch very soon."

Guests choosing to arrive on Monday, November 2 will have the following options:

  • Continue with their break (until Thursday morning, 5th November) and accept a discount to the value of 50% of the break cost
  • Reschedule to a completely new break date and accept a discount to the value of £100
  • Cancel with a full refund

The park states all other guests impacted, who had breaks booked and were due to arrive between November 6 and November 30, will also have the option to change dates with £100 discount, or to claim a full refund.

Centerparcs will get in touch with anyone who may be affected by the forced closure.
