
SET-listed Central Plaza Hotel Plc (Centel) has announced the appointment of Gun Srisompong as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective Sept 15.
Centel's board of directors yesterday approved the appointment of Mr Gun as executive vice-president of finance of Centel.
As CFO, Mr Gun will be in charge of all finance and investment matters of Centel and subsidiaries.
Mr Gun, 42, has served as assistant vice-president of finance and asset management at Centara Hotels & Resorts (CHR) since December 2014.
During his tenure at CHR, he was responsible for overseeing finance and performance assessment, investor relations, seeking capital to fund domestic and overseas expansion and restructuring debts to optimise costs.
Prior to joining CHR, Mr Gun spent eight years at Kasikorn Securities Plc serving as assistant vice-president, and acted as senior investment banking executive at Kasikornbank (KBank) for four years.
He specialises in originating various instruments such as debentures, syndicated loans, property funds, real estate investment trusts, infrastructure fund and structured finance such as leverage buyout and securitisation.
Prior to KBank, he had a five-year career with PwC as senior auditor and senior accountant.
Mr Gun holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Thammasat University, and earned a master's degree in applied finance from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
