Cenk Tosun still divides Everton fans as Blues' minds yet to made up about transfer

Everton fans have been left divided after the latest rumours linking Cenk Tosun with a potential move away from the club.

The Blues striker has been subject to speculation throughout the summer after losing his place in the side - with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Kean both seemingly ahead of the Turkish international in the current pecking order.

And Tuesday brought more rumours that the 28-year-old still could leave Goodison Park with links to Qatar-based club Al Gharafa, who are currently managed by former Watford and Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic, surfacing.

However, there have been no further bids for the striker as of yet - with the Qatar transfer window set to close on September 30.

But, the debate later continued regardless on whether it would be a good idea to sell Tosun before that date or not.

On the one hand, the striker has only made one appearance so far this term and is struggling to regain his place in the side ahead of Calvert-Lewin and Kean - and he could still command a good fee for the Blues.

However, on the other hand, his sale could leave Marco Silva a little short of options up front with a long time to go before the January transfer window.

We put the question to a Twitter poll and the results were certainly interesting.

75% of those who voted would accept a reasonable offer for the forward - but the views of fans on Facebook suggests very different opinions.

The majority of supporters on that platform believed Tosun hadn't been given a fair chance so far at Everton , and he deserved a run of games to be able to prove himself.

What fans said on Facebook

George Southern: " Have we got the depth, to lose a squad player?"

Andy Forsyth : "I think it’d be up to Cenk. Personally I think he’s worthy of a run in the team but it’s unfair to him to be just left on the bench. Agree he may be a better option than DCL right now with a run."

Andrew Jones: "No, he needs to stay until at least January. We are a cute side that is short on substance, especially away from home and it currently needs all the help it can get."

Tim Cardy: "Difficult one. So far he hasn't done much more than Niasse has or did. Psychology wise, it must be difficult for all of them, the number 9 position has become toxic now. So much pressure on all them to succeed, as so far, the number 9 position has become relative failure."

Dave O'Neill: "Never given a fair crack of the whip. I think he needs to play in a front 2 though. I would like to see him and Kean or DCL given a run of games upfront together for a few games. They can't be any worse than our current efforts upfront."

John Vanderwerff: "Absolutely. Out of his depth at this level and isn't going to get better despite his faultless attitude."

Gaz Jones: "Simple answer, give him a run of games until January and if theres no improvement in goals then get rid. That would be best solution for club and player I think!"

Lee Stephenson: "Let him go he doesn’t fit into Silva’s plans playing a high pressing game his value is decreasing each window take what we can."

Francis Porter: "I’d rather see him given a chance, however if he’s not gonna get one then sell."

Carl Harrison: "He's seems a yard too slow in his thinking at premier league level which exposes his lack of pace.. not a terrible player but seems to slow down attacks giving opponents time to regroup."
