Cenk Tosun issues veiled response to Everton critics after Norwich City defeat

Cenk Tosun mustered up a lacklustre display in Everton's 2-0 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

The striker did little to repay his manager's faith , following solid displays in his previous two games where he scored a goal in the 97th minute against Tottenham and played 75 minutes against Southampton where the Blues won 2-1.

In reality, no player really performed against the Canaries at Goodison Park and there was a lack of service up to Tosun, but the attacker was one of those who came in for real criticism after the game for the lack of fight and willingness he showed to try and win the match for his side.

However, this morning the Turkey international took to Twitter and reminded the Everton faithful that he has an excellent goalscoring ability.

The official Champions League account tweeted a video of Tosun scoring a first-time flying scissor kick for Besiktas against Benfica back in 2016.

He quote tweeted the video and said "not bad" with the eyes emoji as if to suggest to people to watch the clip and see for themselves that he has this goalscoring talent in his locker.

Several Everton fans replied to the frontman.

One sarcastically suggested it was "a great thing to see and share on the back of a 2-0 home defeat to bottom of the league" while another simply wrote back "want to start doing that for Everton".
