Celtics wing Evan Fournier talks his recovery from COVID, how lingering symptoms remain

It might not have been obvious as veteran shooting guard Evan Fournier was putting up his best game yet since returning from a lengthy stay in the NBA’s health and safety protocols for a positive, symptomatic case of COVID-19 that really knocked him on his posterior.

But, the former Orlando Magic wing is still feeling the effects of the virus behind the ongoing deadly pandemic in a big way Sunday night as he connected on a sizzling 8-of-10 shots from the field against the Portland Trail Blazers in the Celtics’ 129 – 119 loss to score 21 points and 5 rebounds.

But, much like teammate Jayson Tatum before him and many others around the league, the St. Maurice native has had to fight through lingering after-effects still impacting his game.

“[I’ve been] feeling really weird to be honest,” he explained to the press after the loss to the Blazers.
