For whatever reason, star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum decided Monday night’s game against the New York Knicks was the night he was going to be even more vocal than usual with the referees when they made calls he disagreed with. The officials, in turn, obliged the St. Louis native with the first regular-season ejection of his NBA career.
That might worry some veteran teammates on other teams, but for veteran Boston big man Al Horford, it’s a small bump in their path to a title.
“It’s a long season,” the Florida alumnus said postgame via MassLive’s Souichi Terada.
“Jayson’s been playing, as we all know, at an MVP level for most of the season. If you can go all 82 playing like that, that’s just tough. There’s going to be ups and downs. He’s the last guy that I’m worried about.”

“My biggest thing with him is making sure he feels right and that he’s good to go at any point once the playoffs start,” Horford added. “I’m not worried about it.”
“Through the season, you’re going to have an off game here or there and that’s just a part of it.”
