Celtics trio leads Red Claws to sixth straight win, best since 2016

Boston Celtics two way players Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters were joined by Celtics rookie Carsen Edwards on the Maine Red Claws Tuesday night in constructing a 138-126 win over the Erie Bayhawks.

The win over the New Orleans Pelicans’ G League affiliate was the Claws’ sixth win in a row, a feat not accomplished since 2016.

Edwards, a first-year shooting guard out of Purdue loaned to the Celtics’ affiliate to get reps for development, logged 11 points, six boards and 4 assists on the night.

The Senegalese fan favorite continued his interior dominance, with Fall registering 11 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.

G League Player of the Week Waters put up 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including a sizzling first quarter that saw him sink four 3-pointers in the frame.

At least some of the Red Claws success this season can be attributed to the seven rookies Boston signed this offseason, with the Celtics taking advantage of their new ownership of the G League outfit to develop their young players.
