Celtics to host sharpshooter Dylan Windler for predraft workout

The Boston Celtics have three first round picks in the 2019 NBA Draft and are beginning their preparation for that night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The one thing you can never have enough of in the league is shooting and the Celtics are bringing in Belmont’s Dylan Windler, one of the NCAA’s top marksmen, for a predraft workout according to Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman.

Windler averaged 21.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while shooting 42.9 percent from deep in the 2018-19 season, leading the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament.

Keeping in mind that two of the five Celtics to shoot at least 36.0 percent from three were experiencing career-best seasons from deep, Boston could use another three-point threat and that is Windler’s specialty. No matter what happens with soon-to-be free agent Kyrie Irving this summer, he would be able to provide the floor spacing that every team needs to run an offense efficiently.

By bringing him in for a second workout, the Celtics clearly have shown enough interest in him that he would be worth a look with one of their first round picks.
