The Boston Celtics revealed that All-Star forward Jaylen Brown will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 NBA season after being diagnosed with a torn scapholunate ligament in his left hand, with the Cal-Berkeley product slated to get surgery to repair it.
Brown had been out due to a sprained ankle exacerbated by a collision with fellow star wing Jayson Tatum at the end of a recent loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, but will now turn his attention to the rehabilitative process beginning with surgery later this week. The Celtic wing had been having a breakout season on the fringes of All-NBA conversations, posting career highs in points (24.7) and assists (3.4) per game.
Brown also shot career-highs overall (48.4%), from 3-point range (39.7%) and from the free throw line (76.4%) this season.
