Celtics rule out Kristaps Porzingis ahead of Timberwolves game

The Boston Celtics released their injury report for their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday (Jan. 10.) Heading into the day, both Jrue Holiday and Al Horford were listed as questionable. However, both have now been cleared to play. However, star big man Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out of the contest due to a right knee contusion.

With Porzingis out of the matchup against Minnesota, Boston will be relying on Horford and Luke Kornet to make an impact against the impressive frontcourt of Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. The Celtics will also be hoping Porzingis can bounce back for Thursday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, as Horford doesn’t play on the second night of back-to-backs.

The Celtics will be coming into their home game against Minnesota following a controversial loss to the Indiana Pacers. As such, we can expect Boston to try and take control of the game early. They will have a rest advantage, as Minnesota played on Tuesday (Jan. 9) and endured travel problems overnight, as reported by Sean Grande.

Celtics fans will be treated to a great game of basketball when they face the Timberwolves, as the top-seeded team in both the Eastern and Western conferences go toe-to-toe.
