Celtics rookie Romeo Langford suffers right knee sprain against Cavs

Per the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn, Boston Celtics rookie swingman Romeo Langford suffered a right knee sprain in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s matchup between Boston and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens downplayed the injury following Sunday’s win over Cleveland but is unsure of if Langford will suit up for the team’s preseason finale. Langford, the 14th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, initially missed the preseason opener with a strained groin.

Unfortunately, after missing the Boston’s Summer League action as he recovered from a torn thumb ligament, Langford’s continuous injuries may earn him the label of being ‘injury-prone.’

Langford is an intuitive playmaker and, though his time on the court has been limited, he’s proven he’s a pretty talented player. Hopefully, he’ll get past his rash of injuries and build some chemistry and confidence with the team and within himself as the season wears on.
