Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown will remain out against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, the team announced.
This will be the eighth game in a row that Brown misses due to a right hamstring sprain. He suffered the injury in the third quarter of the game against the Miami Heat on Nov. 4.
That put a pause on a stellar start to the season in which Brown is averaging 25.6 points per game while flirting with a 50/40 shooting line.
Dennis Schroder is probable to play against his former team with a left ankle sprain, while Robert Williams is doubtful with left knee tendinopathy that has kept him out of the last two games.
Boston will have to take on an Oklahoma City team that has had a surprisingly strong start. The Thunder are 6-9 this season on the back of several comeback wins, including a 26-point comeback over the Los Angeles Lakers. On Friday night, the Thunder very nearly overcame a 20-point deficit to the Milwaukee Bucks but ended up falling.
The Celtics will have to keep the Thunder at an arm’s distance and do so without Brown.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
