Celtics release complete schedule for Eastern Conference semifinals

After initial reports had the Boston Celtics (correctly) facing the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Sunday at 1 P.M. EST, the Celtics have released their complete schedule for the semifinal round, with the format mirroring that of their first round series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Celtics and Bucks will play Game 2 on Tuesday, giving them at least 48 hours after Game 1 (the NBA standard) before they have to face Milwaukee a second time. Three days after Game 2 (on a Friday) Boston will face Milwaukee in Game 3, giving the Celtics a day for travel and then their 48 hours needed for preparation. Game 4 will be scheduled for Monday, three days after Game 3.

It’s unlikely that either team will finish this series in a sweep and it could very well take a Game 7 to decide who advances to the Eastern Conference Finals. In that event, the semifinal round will last into the middle of May, with a potential Game 7 scheduled for May 13.
