Celtics reaction: Boston overcomes slow start to quiet Thunder 111 – 94

The Boston Celtics shook off a slow start to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road 111 – 94 with a big boost from the bench for the team’s second win in a row.

While they were facing an especially young Thunder squad, Oklahoma City was hungry and jumped out to an early lead it took much of the game and back-to-back 3-pointers from recently-acquired big man Luke Kornet to take the lead for the first time early in the fourth quarter. All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 27 points and 5 rebounds while All-Star forward Jaylen Brown added 25 points.

Robert Williams III had 9 points and 14 rebounds in his second start of the season, and both Carsen Edwards and Payton Pritchard added 12 points apiece off the bench, with the Oregon product pulling down 7 boards for good measure.

The Celtics now sit a half-game behind the sixth-place Atlanta Hawks with the win, and return to TD Garden to face the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, March 29.
