Celtics limit Giannis, rout Bucks 112-90 in Game 1

The Boston Celtics stun the Milwaukee Bucks in a rout, 112-90, in Game 1 to take a 1-0 series lead. With this win on the road, the Celtics take home court advantage away as well.

The Celtics started out hot. The Bucks then came out hot as well and had a 15-0 run at one point in the first half as well, but the Celtics just took control the rest of the way.

The Celtics took care of business in game one against the top defense in the NBA. If you were a Celtics fan and worried about them against the Bucks, then Game 1 should ease your worries just a bit.

Especially as Boston limited Giannis Antetokounmpo to just 22 points on 7-21 shooting from the field (33.3 percent) and three other Bucks starters (Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez and Sterling Brown) to a combined 3-17 from the floor.

The Celtics were led by Kyrie Irving, who finished with 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, continuing to prove his determination to be a complete player. He shot 57.1 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three point range. Al Horford finished with a double-double, as he had 20 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal.

Jaylen Brown finished with 19 points and four rebounds. Gordon Hayward finished with 13 points, five assists, four rebounds, a steal and a block off the bench. Terry Rozier finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and three assists off the bench.

After going 21-20 on the road in the regular season, this is the Celtics’ third road win (they’re 3-0 on the road) of the postseason. The next time these two will face is Tuesday night in Milwaukee with an 8 p.m. Eastern tipoff on TNT.
