Celtics’ Jaylen Brown on locking up Anthony Edwards in Boston’s OT win vs. Minnestoa

Jayson Tatum‘s offensive explosion late in the Boston’s Celtics overtime win vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves may have stolen the show. But if it wasn’t for Jaylen Brown’s defensive masterclass against Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, it might have all been for naught.

Speaking via CLNS Media about that critical defensive assignment in which he held Edwards scoreless late in the Boston win, Brown said his thinking was to prevent Edwards from putting his imprint on the game when it counted. “We can’t let him do what he’s been doing to everybody else to us,” offered the Georgia native. “Especially after the first matchup (that saw Boston fall to Minnesota in overtime because Edwards went off).”

“I think he got the best of us in that first matchup, and tonight, we weren’t having it,” added Brown.

“So any chance we can get a guy to turn it over, take ill-advised shots (we’ll take),” added the Cal alum. “He made some tough ones still, but I thought we did a good on him as a team, but I definitely was the snake on the head of that.”
