Celtics guard Marcus Smart expects to return from injury tomorrow vs. Brooklyn

In Wednesday’s press conference, Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart gave fans the news they have been waiting for while speaking to the media after his first 5-on-5 practice with the team.

After tearing his calf in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 30, Smart has missed the past 18 games. Smart mentioned Wednesday was his first day back playing with full contact in practice. The Celtics guard said the day went smoothly, and that he expects to be back on the court.

“They cleared me and said if today went well I am most likely going to play tomorrow, unless something changes,” said Smart in the presser. “As of right now, I will be playing in the game tomorrow.”

Unless something changes, Boston will get Smart back just in time for a prime time clash with the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Thursday night.
