Celtics close out LeBron and Lakers understudies despite triple double

LeBron James had 30 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a triple double but the Lakers lost their fifth straight game on Saturday night, falling to the Boston Celtics 120-107.

Kyrie Irving has 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists to lead the Celtics in scoring.

On Saturday the Lakers received the news they’d be without Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram for the rest of the season. Ball had been out since January 19 and after hope he would return following the All-Star break, his progress has stalled. Ingram was also ruled out with a blood clot in his arm.

Moe Wagner stepped in for the Lakers with 22 points as a starter. Once again, two-way players Alex Caruso and Jonathan Williams both played close to 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Celtics entered Saturday night playing excellent basketball. They thumped the Golden State Warriors in Oakland on Tuesday and then followed that up with a win against a competitive Sacramento team.

In addition to Irving, the Celtics had five other players who scored in double figures.
