Celtics clinch home court advantage following Pacers loss to Nets

The battle for home court advantage in round one is done. Things worked out in the Boston Celtics’ favor with the Brooklyn Nets lending a helping hand, knocking off the Indiana Pacers 108-96 on Sunday.

Boston and Indiana had been jockeying for the fourth seed throughout, with the Celtics making a hard push in their last two matchups. The C’s won a two-point thriller in Indy, followed by a 20-point onslaught at the TD Garden. The Friday blowout on put Boston in the driver’s seat, setting the magic number at one game.

The Celtics also have an outside shot at the third seed. They enter Sunday night two games back of the third-seeded Philadelphia 76ers. Despite the little things that have bothered the Celtics this season, they still have a chance to move up and position themselves for the deep playoff run that they, themselves, and prognosticators all predicted in the offseason.
