Celtic youngster Mikey Johnston earns Alan Brazil ire as radio host blasts blue boots decision

Alan Brazil has hit out at Mikey Johnston for wearing BLUE boots during Celtic's 1-1 draw with Hibs on Monday night.

And he was also in disbelief at teenager Armstrong Oko-Flex wearing ear pods as he prepared to come on - without realising Neil Lennon was speaking to him from home.

The Irish youngster was criticised for having them in as he was about to come on but Gavin Strachan revealed that Lennon was on Zoom speaking to him.

But Brazil was still critical and also couldn't believe that Johnston had blue boots on, the colour of rivals Rangers.

During Pedro Caixinha's ill-fated spell in charge of Rangers, the Portuguese banned players from wearing green boots and clearly Brazil wants similar at Celtic.

During the 'numpty of the week' section of his breakfast show on talkSPORT, he said: "Can you put that wee Mikey Johnston in there? Him with the blue boots on against Hibs.

"Can he not get in there?"

But it wasn't just Johnston who was getting criticised by Brazil. Oko-Flex also took it tight with Brazil not aware of the reasons behind him wearing his air pods.

He added: "And what about this sub with the music in his ears when getting warmed up.

"What is that about?

"Big Jock would have gone ballistic. I couldn't believe my eyes."

Rangers legend Ally McCoist defended both and said: "Alan, calm down, it was only a pair of boots. it was only a pair of earphones."
