Graham Alexander says Celtic might have made Dundee feel like a wounded animal after thrashing them 6-0 last weekend, but is only interested in what his Motherwell side do in their Premier Sports Cup last-16 tie tomorrow.
Alexander says he wants his side to do well in both domestic cup competitions, and that continues at Dens Park.
While Dundee might have a point to prove, Alexander says his side is always looking to do their best to win games.
He said: "I just think every week we play an opponent that's got good qualities. Looking back on what they've done previously, I like to think it doesn't really affect how we will prepare.
"We always prepare against a team, their best-case scenario team, where we see them being at full strength, what they're good at, but also where we can expose what they're not so good at.
"That goes across the board, whoever we're playing.
"I don't really want my players to think about what they've done previously, I'd rather us think about what we've done previously, what we have to improve on, on what we've done previously, and take it forward into the next game.

"I think every team, every game at this level, is hard, it's competitive, and we have to be as close to our best to win games of football.
"We're playing against a Premiership team, so it will be a tough task, but we want to do well in all the competitions that we compete for, and we qualified top of our group, as we wanted to do, and this is the prize for doing that.
"It's a tough game away from home, but it's one we obviously want to try and win.
"That sort of result last week can happen, when you're playing a team with the quality of Celtic, but I think always as professionals you want to react in the best way possible to any negatives.
"We go into every game looking to perform at our best and take whatever the opponent tries to produce against us and overcome it.
"Tomorrow will be no different, but as a professional you expect some sort of response from that."
Alexander says there aren't any issues with the creative side of Motherwell's game, but they need to do better in defence, having lost 3-2 to Hibs and drawn 1-1 at St Johnstone last weekend.

He said: "We've been quite creative and created chances in both those games, scored three goals against two excellent teams who are competing in Europe and had great seasons last season, but on the other side we have to keep a clean sheet to make those goals count for points, or going through to the next round.
"I still feel we could have scored more last week, but we want to keep clean sheets. We work hard on that on the training field and we haven't managed that yet.
"We had a bit of misfortune with the own-goal last week, but we're improving, the players are improving, and we're working hard on the training pitch to make those improvements count when they need to count, and that's in match-days."
