Celtic win comfortably against Ross County amid injury concerns

Celtic have beaten Ross County 2-0 in today's pre-season friendly.

Neil Lennon named a strong side in the 1pm kick off, with Scott Brown returning from injury to captain an eleven that also featured the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor.

The champions are in the final stage of preparations for the new season, with Lennon's men aiming to secure a historic tenth successive title.

They took the lead after just three minutes against Stuart Kettlewell's side, who finished 10th in last season's Premiership table.

Greg Taylor put in a cross and it was deflected in by Staggies defender Coll Donaldson.

Celtic's doubled their advantage after 14 minutes. Jeremie Frimpong sent in a low cross and Mo Elyounoussi scored the second with a first-time finish.

Before the first-half ended both Taylor and Kristoffer Ajer required medical attention, with the left-back unable to continue. He was replaced by youngster Kerr Mcinroy in the final minute of the half.

McGregor and Ryan Christie had chances to extend Celtic's lead in the second half but the final score was 2-0.

Celtic take on Hibs in another friendly on Monday.
